About Us

Who We Are

FCC Rowlett is a welcoming, Christ-centered community where faith is active, love is radical, and hope is lived out loud. Rooted in the Disciples of Christ tradition, we are a church that lives by faith, loves like Christ without limitations, and strives to be a voice of hope in a world that needs it.

We believe church should feel like family—authentic, diverse, compassionate, and committed to growing together. Whether you're exploring faith or deepening it, you have a place here.

Our Identity as Disciples of Christ

We are part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)—a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.
This means:

  • Open Communion: Everyone is welcome at the Lord’s Table, every Sunday.

  • Freedom of Belief: We center on Jesus Christ and honor each person’s journey, conscience, and growing understanding of faith.

  • Baptism by Immersion: We practice immersion but honor all baptism traditions.

  • Unity: We seek Christian unity and work alongside all who follow Christ.

  • Shared Ministry: Both clergy and lay leaders serve, teach, and lead together.

Our core confession: “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Our Story

FCC Rowlett began in 1893 when fewer than twenty people gathered in a small schoolhouse to worship and build a community of faith. From a tiny farming town of under 1,000 people, we’ve grown alongside the city—from Main Street to our current home at Miller and Chiesa.

Through every season, one thing has stayed the same:
We are a church committed to faith, community, inclusion, and love.

Today, FCC Rowlett is a vibrant, diverse congregation of all ages and backgrounds—still rooted in our tradition, still evolving, and still passionate about serving Rowlett and the world with compassion and purpose.

We worship each Sunday at 9:30 am. Sunday School follows at 10:30 am.
